Lil' Scrappy (MySpace)
A few years ago, DeKalb county-based Lil' Scrappy showed lots of promise. He, along with the group Trillville were signed to Lil’ Jon’s BME Records as leaders of the crunk movement. You could barely turn on the radio or even drive through the city without hearing hits like “Head Bussa,” and “Neva Eva.”
Eventually, Trillville disbanded and the sounds of crunk died down to make way for more melodic and lyrically substantive music from the likes of Ludacris, T.I. and Young Jeezy. Lil’ Jon’s BME, partnered with TVT records, went bankrupt in 2008.
Even after moving on to a new label, Real Talk Entertainment, Lil’ Scrappy was known more for his collaborations than his solo efforts. His first full album, Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live, though, made it to number #3 on the Billboard rap charts in 2006. His last release, Prince of the South, never charted and received little attention as he faded from the spotlight.
He’s now returning with The Grustle as a new signee to Ludacris’ DTP Label. You can say Grustle is a combination of "grind and hustle." The first singles are "Look Like This" and "Addicted To Money" featuring Ludacris. The album is set to drop January 2010. An exact date has not been given.
These days, Lil’ Scrappy is looking stockier and more mature with more tattoos, including a cross under his right eye. Recently he posted a video on YouTube to talk about his new release and thoughts on several well-known Southern rappers going to prison.

I have heard his first single and it sounds hot! And after seeing him at the DUB Show and all, I would definitely agree about him looking "stout" - and that's in a good way!
