Marshall B. Wilkins was born December 9, 1951 in New York, N.Y. As a member of the track team at Seward Park High School he ran the half mile run and cross country. After graduating from high school he attended the Borough of Manhattan Community College where he majored in Recreation Leadership. He joined the U.S. Army in 1972. After six years in the 82nd Airborne, Marshall attended the Department of Defense Information School to become a photojournalist. During his 14-year public affairs career he wrote feature stories, hard news stories, and sports stories in South Korea, Panama and other locations. As sports editor of the Indianhead newspaper in South Korea, he covered softball, basketball, flag football, track and field, boxing and martial arts. He earned a 1st degree black belt in Hapkido in Seoul. He has a B.S. in education/journalistic studies from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas. Send Marshall your comments.
