On Tuesday, more developments in the Shaniya Davis murder case.

Antoinette Davis, Shaniya's mother, who has been charged with human trafficking and child abuse, was transferred for her own safety.

According to The Fayettville Observer, Davis was transferred from the Cumberland County Detention Center to the North Carolina Correctional Center for Women in Raleigh, North Carolina.

According to WRAL.com, special attention had to be paid to Davis. She "was being held in a safe-keeping cell away from the general prison population," according to state Department of Correction spokesman Keith Acree.

Debbie Tanna, a spokeswoman for the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, stated that Davis "is pregnant, so special precautions had to be taken."

Also on Tuesday, Shaniya Davis's father, Bradley Lockhart, appeared in the studio with host Meredith Vieira on NBC's "Today" show to talk about the life and death of his daughter.

Lockhart spoke of the last time he saw his little girl before he left for an out-of-state business trip. He stated that she climbed up into his truck to kiss him goodbye and that they would see each other upon his return. Unfortunately, Lockhart would never see his daughter again.

Vieira pressed the issue as to whether or not Lockhart should have seen the signs that sending his daughter to her mother, Antoinette Davis, was the wrong move. "I don't think I really missed any (signs). Of course there's always speculation. There's always things you could look at and say, well maybe, maybe not," Lockhart said.

A pensive looking Lockhart added, "We obviously make decisions in life that sometimes have repercussions or adverse situations that drift from our decision. We just have to continue to believe in God and hope that our decisions are the correct ones."

-Listen to Antoinette Davis's 911 call.

Bradley Lockhart. Stop trying to fake. God knows. You must live with why you took child from a $250 home to a trailor filled with trash to live with crackheads. You will pay for your selfish decision. I hope you are awakened every night by the sound of her voice asking you why you did this to me.

@Spicypink - that's just cruel. That man is going through enough. He does not need the world judging his decisions as well. He is in a living hell right now without your comments.

I do not doubt this mans grief but seriously, what the hell was he thinking? We're talking poor decision on his part in the worst way.

This man is lying through his teeth. I think there is either something he is hiding or a life insurance policiy on the child that we don't know about.

@notright - the father is not living hell. He's living in front of the camera. He's a liar, a fake, and a fraud.

I feel terribly sad for the father and aunt, and all of the family that actually loved Shaniya Davis. I must question, howver, how could these people agree to let her go to her mother? I do question though, that the father must have trusted her in some ways because this woman babysat his other children, he wound up sleeping with her (once? twice? I don't know), and that's how he had a baby with her. If he trusted her enough to watch his other children, then he really may not have realized just how horrible she was...? I just don't know. I do think that any loving and good father wouldn't have let her go regardless.... Was his sister tired of taking care of her? Could she no longer do it? Could he not find another relative or babysitter for this little girl? I'm just sad... She fell through every crack there was to fall through.... Rest in peace, little Shaniya. God loves you.

Most people, especially those who showed such bad judgment in caring for their child that the child was murdered in their absence, would be either at home or at church soul searching and asking for forgiveness. Mr. Lockhart on the other hand seems to be playing for whatever camera is pointed in his direction. I pray for Shaniya that she is at peace. I pray that this so-called mother, McNeill, and the father answer for what happened.

Mr. Lockhart dumped that little girl off for whatever reason with a woman he knew to be unstable with a drug problem. He set up not one check or balance to ensure even basic care and monitoring. He didn't ask the school to notify him if that little girl missed one day, she had been pulled out for over a month when she died. He didn't ask the manager of the trailer park to call him if there was police contact, didn't call the local police dept if there was direct contact, or to call him immediately if they had contact with the mother, he is as the most responsible parent derelict at best and at total fault at worst. He KNEW what the mother was and deserted his 5 year old child to be raped, sold and then murdered by a bunch of lowlife addicts. I'm sure he will get a book deal and cry more crocodile tears when had he set up 3 basic steps she would be alive today. He body dumped his own daughter, but she was alive when he did it.

I don't care if he is the worse father in the world. The big picture is that no one has a right to sale their child into prostitution & people should not be raping 5yr.children! He did not intentionally wish this upon his daughter!! get real! you can nitpick all you want at someone's past...but the picture is bigger. everyone has skeletons in their closet! THE PROBLEM IS THAT trafficking is right in our own neighborhoods & under our noses & it needs to be caught! NO ONE IS SAFE!!!

has anyone stopped to think that the reason Bradley Lockhart has nothing negative to say about Antoinette Davis is because nothing was going on. She has no criminal record, no record of drug use and was working. Who's to say that Shaniya wasn't kidnapped from her home? I think that the police are going to have a huge lawsuit on their hands for arresting her based on a statement from a child killer.

I think all of us want to find a way to believe we could have stopped this..that it couldn't happen to us..and I agree with the people who say the father was worse than derelict, that he never made an effort for this child and kicked others out of his house to live with whoever would take them in! His x-father in law offered to take Shaniya rather than have her go to the mom..Brad turned him down. He is crying because he feels guilty. He is sucking up sympathy now because soon it will end, when the truth comes out.

I totally agree about the father. Doesn't sound like he lives that far from the mother, how could he not know? I call bs, I heard him pointedly mention his 'bmw' and was that his home he was in front of on the ng show? bs, bs, bs- @spicypink is right!!!!

Ok.. Aunt Carrie loves shaniya so much and was so close to her, she dropped her off and had NO contact with her or checked on her for more than 3 weeks?? Come on.. Aunt carrie lives 20 minutes from the crack trailer park she dropped shaniya off at. As for the father,I have NO respect for him, When asked what he would like to see happen to those responsible for his daughters death, He says it's in gods hands.. GIVE ME A BREAK!! I have my faith. But to be honest had my child just beed raped and killed I would have PLENTY to say ! I would want to have a chance to take matters into my own hands. IThis is the worse story I have ever heard in my life! And I have a feeling there is so much more to the story that hasn't come out yet! And why is there a trust fund set up for shaniya's funeral? She stil has no head stone, And didn't a basketball player pay for the funeral?? Seems like dad is making a profit off his daughters death! This makes me sick!!!

I agree with disgusted.. but the only reason why there isn't a headstone for Shaniya is, the ground has to harden in order for it not to sink into the ground. Hopefully one has been ordered..
