Surviving by Lois Trader is a peek into Lois' house, in fact, it's like staying over as a house guest for a long time while she comically tells you the stories of how she could've been dead from the nation's number 1 killer of women, heart disease.
Lois clearly and concisely tells women what mistakes she made and opens up to us about how we don't have to make those same mistakes, we can avoid the health hardships and thus be more proactive in keeping our bodies healthy and our hearts unbroken.
There's more to this story than heart disease, although, she makes a very good argument against it. I think you will find, she is definitely anti-heart-disease; she gives details into feelings, intuition, physical manifestations and even psychological issues which creep upon a woman in this situation. There is loneliness, pain, family issues and deep fear in this book, but there is also hope. There is hope for the rest of us out there, because she wants us to take hold of our own bodies and see to it that we get the care we need despite any obstacles. She even elicits the help of a doctor to give us a reality check that we women need sometimes.
This book isn't about creating fear, it's about creating more years of surviving for us all. It's about how no matter your age, you can be effected by heart disease and because of that fact, we must be good to our bodies.
Lois shares so openly about her life, one can't help but like her and her writing, while enjoying a little education on the way.
