Did you know that San Francisco's Bloomingdales offers scads of exciting culinary events and classes; covering everything from kids cooking to celeb chefs? I can't believe Chef Dennis Leary will actually be making a rare public appearance, and you'll def want to mark you calendars for Top Chef cutie, Ryan Scott who's showing up on August 27th with a bunch of his Top Chef cohorts.
One great sounding event is their ongoing culinary tour of the Farmer's Market on Tuesday August 11th. You’re invited to join San Francisco’s Epicurean Concierge, Lisa Rogovin, on an intimate tour of the famed Ferry Building Marketplace, located on the San Francisco waterfront. You’ll receive an exclusive behind-the-scenes taste of the Bay Area’s exciting food scene and learn about local producers from a local’s perspective.
You’ll sample your way through chocolate, cheese, olive oil, and organically grown, seasonal fruit, vegetables and meat. Meet at 10am in front of the Ferry building and back at Bloomingdale’s by noon for a cooking demo.
Come see why local purveyors such as Miette Patisserie, McEvoy Olive Oil, Boccalone, Cowgirl Creamery, Recchiuti Confections, and ACME Bread Company have put the Bay Area on the map as a culinary destination!
After your hour and a half tour, you’ll be whisked away on a vintage streetcar to Bloomingdale’s San Francisco, the West Coast Flagship store, for an exciting culinary demonstration and tasting.

Cost is $65 which includes the 1 ½ hour tour at the Ferry Building, transportation back to Bloomingdales, an 11% discount in the store and a $25 gift certificate. Plus you get to watch S.F.'s Bloomingdales Culinary Coordinator, Chef Holly Le Du do a seasonal demo and have a nice sized snack with a cup of tea from Lupicia Teas- that’s practically paying for itself!
