Walking the miles of open spaces surrounding the Yaguar Zoo stretching to the Sierra Madre
Our last day in Oaxaca.
Manana, vamos a casa.
Morning warnings re: Swine Flu: don't shake hands and don't kiss. OK! Can do!
Today we plan a morning hike into the hills, then an excursion to Juarez market downtown to find some REAL vanilla that is coveted by my neighbor in Northern California, followed by lunch in the Zocalo.
From there, it will be back to El Estudio to pack, and then on to our neighbor's birthday party in the casa next door.
The natural beauty here never fails to astonish. As we are outside the city so much of the time and not around crowds, keeping a safe "Swing Flu distance" has been fairly easy.
Still as mystery as to why all markets are out of cubreboca (face masks) and - get this - Purell!
Time to lace up for the hills. Hasta!

You are staying in El Estudio? We used to own El Barco and the studio that "doesn't quit" was mine. The room next to it, was my husband's studio. I don't know what it is now. We loved that place so much. We lived there for 11 years. Is the animal rescue foundation at Casa Raab? Who is the person running it?
Hi Arlene!
Gee, I just saw your post here in comments - sorry for the delay!
Yes, we were in El Studio and it sounds like you know all about the neighborhood. The Harlin's live in your place now, perhaps you sold to them and know that? I was under the impression that they had built the studio, along with another casita - they've added a few buildings.
Yes, the rescue is at Casa Raab with Rebeccas and Toni. The foundation is Rebecca's baby, with the help of a non-profit organization in the states.
How did you find my articles? I'm curious, what a fun connection!
Do you still live in Mexico?
Thanks for stopping in to comment!
