Join the Cancer Sucks party tonight and help raise money for cancer research. According to the Cancer Sucks website, the goal of the event is to “assure everyone that they are not alone in their cancer journey and to come and share a night of laughter, tears, and fellowship.”
Money for cancer research is raised through raffles for items donated by members of the community. Previous years have seen such items as autographed Colts memorabilia and gift baskets from local businesses in the raffle. All money raised at the party is split between the Indiana University Breast Care and Research Center, the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and the Meredith Miracles Colon Cancer Foundation.

Date: Saturday, October 24, 2009
Time: 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Location: 7238 Maple Bluff Place, Indianapolis, IN 46236
Phone: 317-910-8160

Cancer Sucks was started by three Indianapolis area women -- Sara Carpenter, Meredith Rankin, and Maggie Owens -- who were diagnosed with various forms of cancer as young adults. This sounds a great event. We are having several awareness events in Pasco County, Florida.
Amanda, I have been reading your articles and have subscribed to you, so that I can receive them in the future.
Thank you, Susan. I've been reading yours and subscribed to you, too.
What a cool name for their venture! I hope it attracts lots of young people and brings in the support this cause deserves!
Tomorrow night I will be at a Christmas for Lauren event..a middle school student who has been fighting cancer and her insurance company..it does not look like she will make it to Christmas, so we are making Christmas come early for her and her family. Cancer does suck!
I hope Lauren will enjoy her event. Cancer is hard enough, but it's heart-breaking when it is a child dealing with it.
I love the name.
Cancer sucks, no doubt about it. Great job with this!
We missed the event, but it sounded awesome! Hope it was a huge sucess! I've subscribed to you, Amanda!
