The Marion County Health Department would like to protect as many children as possible from the effects of H1N1. To forward that goal, the Health Department has announced its plans to begin vaccinations of non-public school students.
St. Richard Episcopal was the first of the non-public schools to receive the vaccine. Students attending the school received vaccinations on Friday, December 4.
The current schedule for non-public school vaccinations is available through the Marion County Health Department.
Additional religious, private and charter schools have been contacted by the health department and information on dates for those schools will be added as it becomes available.
A consent form must be completed and signed in order for a student can receive a vaccination. Students should eat before receiving the vaccine.
For more info: Parents with questions can call the Marion County Health Department Flu Helpline at 221-3366. The helpline is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
