The Cleaning for a Reason Foundation understands a woman undergoing cancer treatments has much more to focus on than cleaning her home. That is why the foundation provides free professional cleaning and maid services for women fighting cancer.
Deborah Sardone, of Lewisville, Texas, founded Cleaning for a Reason in May 2006. Since that time, the organization has gained 553 professional cleaning business partners in 55 states and provinces across the United States and Canada.
“Most are family owned businesses who want to give back to their communities and have given in the past without recognition or reward. They silently give up profits just to help another human being," says Ms. Sardone.
Women who are undergoing treatment for any form of cancer can contact the foundation through their website, CleaningforaReason.org. The foundation asks for verification of treatment from a doctor, after which they will match the cancer patient with a cleaning service in their local area. The service provides one cleaning per month for four months.
“There are tons of cancer-research foundations. I need help with my house! I have three small children and have been taking chemotherapy for 19 months. This is a God-send to me,” says Stephanie from Long Island, New York.
Cleaning for a Reason services are available in the Northern Indianapolis area (Fishers, Carmel, Castleton, and North Indianapolis) by Housekeeping Maid Easy, located in Fishers, Indiana. To contact them, or to find a cleaning service elsewhere in the United States, please visit the Cleaning for a Reason website.

Excellent, what a wonderful organization.
This warms my heart! Not only do they have help with the cleaning, they get to have a little company, too. I'm sure this makes a huge difference to these women. Kudos to the Texas ladies for starting this.
