With Toyota announcing it is recalling more than 400,000 vehicles many consumers might be rethinking their future car purchases. Toyota owners in Charlotte may contact their local dealer to determine when parts will be available to have their car repaired.
Toyota is including the Avalon from 2000 to 2004 in the recall. This recall is due to a problem with the steering interlock system. This will include more than 373,000 Avalons.
The Lexus LX 470 models from 2003 through 2007 are said to have a steering problem that may allow the steering column to disconnect. No injuries have been reported because of this issue. More than 39,000 of these cars are involved in the recall.
Another report indicated that the Land Cruisers were being recalled for the years 2003 through 2007 for a steering bracket issue. This recall includes approximately 39,000 Land Cruisers. Details about the Toyota Land Cruisers may be found on the Toyota website.

There is nothing on the Toyota website about the recall on the 2000-2004 Avalon.
