Free immunizations will be offered in the Charlotte area for several weeks. Free health assessments will also be available.
Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools will join the Junior League of Charlotte to offer free immunizations. Big Shots Saturdays begins in August.
Parents should bring any immunization records they have with them when requesting the free immunizations being offered. Everyone must have identification available in order to receive free immunizations for the children.
According to the Charlotte Observer, last year over 500 kids received the free immunizations through Big Shots.
The dates and locations for Big Shots Saturdays in August and September are as follows:
August 28th, 2010, from 10 AM until 2 PM at Merry Oaks Elementary at 3508 Draper Avenue.
September 11th, 2010, from 10 AM until 2 PM at the Mecklenburg County Health Department at 249 Billingsley Road.
September 18th, 2010, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Mecklenburg County Health Department at 2845 Beatties Ford Road.
September 25th, 2010, 10 AM until 2 Pm at Merry Oaks Elementary 3508 Draper Avenue.

The Junior League of Charlotte plans to hold two Kids Health Link health fairs during two of the Big Shots Saturdays. On August 28th, 2010 and September 25th, 2010 free assessments for vision, dental screening and hearing will be offered.
During the Big Shots Saturdays events there will be entertainment and giveaways in addition to free immunizations.
