Tighten your belts docs; Jamie Oliver’s food revolution is in Huntington, West Virginia with some common sense health care reform to put you guys out of work. Ditto to drug companies and manufactured food companies.

“Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution” is a new reality show that airs on ABC Friday nights. Jamie shows up in Huntington, “the unhealthiest city in America” with a mission: to get people to eat real food.

That’s right, folks, really real food. You know, the stuff you prepare yourself.

Processed food is dumped, disparaged and dissected. Have you ever wondered what’s in chicken nuggets? Oliver carves off the good “bits” of a chicken, chops up the remains, and voila!  Looks good, tastes all right, but do you really want to eat it?

Revolutions start with a fair degree of slaughter, and this show has it.  First the outnumbered Englishman is under attack and in retreat, but the camera is on his side, and rallies with images of breakfast pizza, goofy government regulations, strawberry milk bottles, and children who know what French fries are, but look perplexed when they are shown a potato.

Will the obesity, diabetes, and heart disease rates decline in Huntington? Is there a chance the city could ever be the healthiest city in America? Can Oliver get the food revolution to spread across the country?

Watch ABC Friday nights. This reality show could bring about real health care reform.

And we desperately need it.

Thanks, Kathleen, and hello. Thanks for the tip about the San Jose Rose Garden. I am one of those people who likes smelling the roses, too. Yes, there's a lot of buzz about Jamie and I hope it gains momentum. I loved last night's show with the teens. It's inspiring.
