Hi Roberta: Great article, and I hope I never need any surgeries, yeah right!
We never know do we? Thanks for an informative article that I enjoyed reading. ~Hugs~
As a person who had failed surgery from the Laser Spine Institute in Tampa, Fl, I would suggest to everyone to do their research before going with less invasive surgery. They roll you in, take your money, tell you they have a ridiculously high sucess rate, then wheel you out with a multi thousand dollar scar on your back and then more problems in about two weeks. Some places claim high sucess rates, only to deceive people with those numbers. Most people that they consider success is if they can walk the next day or even a week later. Most often, if the surgery fails you will take a very bad turn for the worse after about two weeks and will end up much worse than you were before the surgery. In my case, and in many cases of people I have spoken to, my spine surgery was to my L5, S1 disc. It has since hernaited again and collapsed. My L4, L5 disc has now hernaited. There is no chance of any more surgery, and I basically will have to live as if I am paralzyed. I will have to get a stimulator implant placed in me much like a pacemaker. This will not help the back, only help some of the pain. Please, anyone else reading this... check with your doctor about chiropractors and a decompression table unless your back is too far gone. They will review an MRI and make the decision. Be very cautious. Good article, Roberta.
yes, after a certain age it's all about spare parts, less invasive surgery is a modern, every day thing now, Dr. Centeno must be very accomplished
