Eyelash extensions have increased in popularity over the past few years. While at first take, the concept may seem vain or excessive, the extensions provide a sense of confidence and beauty to those who have want to achieve new look and sense of themselves. I recently interviewed Eboni Sparks, owner of Etsetera Lash Studio, who is a Master Stylist of Xtreme Lashes, a global leader in eyelash extensions.

Tyrika Swails: How long have you been a lash stylist?
Eboni Sparks: I left corporate America over 4 years ago to pursue my passion of providing eyelash extensions. I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for over 10 years and while I’ve always been a hairstylist, I began to realize that my life in a corporate settling was no longer fulfilling, and after rebounding from a major family issue, I decided it was time to take a leap of faith to make my passion my career.

TS: What do you specialize in?
ES: As an Xtreme Lash stylist I specialize in providing a fresh look without appearing false or over the top. I spent a year as a trainer for Xtreme traveling nationwide teaching other stylists how to expertly apply the extensions. I take great pride in creating a look for my clients that they can show off and brag to their friends about.

TS: What would your clients say about your lashes and your overall service?
ES: My clients have thanked me repeatedly for my personal dedication to them and their look. I make it a point to work within whatever my clients’ schedules are. I have clients that consider their lashes to be more than a luxury, but a necessity so every client’s look has to be right. Their look is a representation of my service and I am not happy until my clients are happy. I guarantee my work, and will correct a clients’ extensions until they are completely satisfied.

TS: How would you recommend a person looking to get lashes for the first time select a stylist?
ES: Word of mouth is key. To be able to see what the end result will be is what will assure you that you will love your own lashes. Ask around for referrals and talk to the stylists to find the one you are most comfortable with helping you achieve your new look.
