Governor David Paterson may resign after New York Times story

Rumors and speculations are running rapid that New York Governor David Paterson might resign after a New York Times "bombshell" to be published on Monday morning.

New York, United States - It is being reported that New York Governor David Paterson will resign on Monday after the New York Times will publish a “bombshell” article on the same day, according to New York Magazine. The piece would reveal a scandal for the governor and force him to submit his resignation; however, it is unknown what the scandal could be.

Rumors have been running around media outlets for weeks that the Times was going to publish a blockbuster expose, which the governor has denied that they have a resignation-worthy piece, reports Gawker. It’s rumored that the scandal could be much worse than his affair with a state employee.

The Associated Press reports that Paterson met privately with Democratic leaders on Sunday about his re-election campaign plans. A Democrat close to the meeting said, speaking on a condition of anonymity, the discussion included about whether or not Paterson will resign or if he would announce that he will not be running for re-election.

David Paterson and his crew have been a complete embarrassment to this state. His actions have simply caught up to him.

The Democratic Conference Organizational and Structural Report detailing the workings of Paterson’s managerial style while he was Senate Minority leader is a true testament to this clowns ability to manage or more precisely mismanage.

This scathing report indicated that Paterson’s Senate Minority office, headed by the supremely incompetent Michael Jones Bey, was completely dysfunctional. Mr. Jones Bey, who is now incredulously Director of Empire State Development’s Office of Women and Minority Business Development, was reported to be more interested in partying and boozing up with staff than working.

So why does Obama want Paterson out? And why is the NY Times helping the Obama administration take him out? Maybe that's the story you should be working on Andrew. Might even win you a pulitzer.

Real journalists never deal with rumours they confirm or deny them... As you can see today, according to sources I have [I am an Examiner also] he will not resign. Other sources told Reuters that the story and rumours were "completely fabricated." This is the reason why rumours are dangerous. If this writer even bothered to move the bum in his chair and do some digging, he would have found that. But he decided to take reporting by hard working reporters from accredited news agencies and rehash it here. Sad.
