A brief look at some popular events in Toronto in the coming months

Following is a brief look at some events in late 2009 and into 2010 in Toronto:

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

On Thursday, November 3, 2009, the first NFL game between these two prime NFL teams is sure to bring excitement to Ontario’s biggest city. It all takes place at the Rogers Centre. Kick-off begins at 8:20 p.m. EST.

Cavalcade of Lights

Beginning on November 28, 2009, over 100,000 lights will illuminate Nathan Phillips Square with a month-long series of events which include sparkling displays and the city’s official Christmas Tree. The events wraps up on December 31, 2009.

Dead Sea Scrolls

Visit the Royal Ontario Museum to see some of the most greatest archaeological finds of our time, the Dead Sea Scrolls.

The scrolls, which are the source of the Hebrew Bible and Christianity’s Old Testament Bible, are more than 2,000 years old.

The exhibition wraps up on January 3, 2010.

Pride Week

Recognized as one of the biggest celebrations of its kind in the world, Toronto’s Pride Week celebration is set for June 25 to July 4, 2010.

Honda Indy Toronto

The IndyCar Series makes a stop in Toronto for a weekend of speed and excitement between July 16 and July 18, 2010. Race cars from the Indianapolis 500 will compete at Toronto’s Exhibition Place.

The action-packed weekend also includes vehicle displays, interactive areas, and concerts.

Caribana

Get ready to feel de vibe at Toronto’s annual Scotiabank Caribana parade.

In its 42nd year, this massive celebration of the Caribbean community features food, music, visual and performing arts, as the city explodes with the pulsating rhythms of soca, chutney, reggae, and calypso.

The festivities begin on July 13 and end with the official parade march on August 1, 2010.
