Westboro Baptist Church picket schedule targets Tampa (videos)
If you aren’t familiar with Westboro Baptist Church, they are a hate group known for targeting their hatred towards gays and lesbians. They are led by Fred Phelps, from Topeka, Kansas and according to the site’s picket schedule; they plan to picket several spots in Tampa in the next few weeks.
On Westboro Baptist Church’s radar is the Bon Jovi concert that will take place on April 17, 2010 at the St. Pete Times Forum. The hate group announced that they will picket from 6:45-7:30 p.m.
On April 18, 2010, Westboro Baptist Church plans to picket Without Walls International Church, on 2511 N. Grady Avenue between 8:15 and 9:00 a.m. That will be early Sunday morning and according to the group; they are picketing because Pastor Paula White, who leads the church, is a female.
Later that day, Westboro Baptist Church will head to Gainesville, Florida to picket the Trinity United Methodist Church, the University of Florida Hillel congregation, the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, and the Saint Augustine Catholic Church. After their day of spreading hate to the various congregations, they will head back to Tampa.
On April 19, 2010 from 6:55 am-7:25 am the Westboro Baptist Church will return to Tampa, Florida and will picket at the H.B. Plant High School. From 7:40 a.m. to 8:10 a.m., the hate group will target Tampa Catholic High School on Rome Ave. The group will move on to the University of South Florida Hillel and picket between 9:15-9:45 am, before ending their Tampa tour at the University of South Florida Catholic Student Center on 50th Street. The group plans to protest at 9:15-9:45.
According to the ‘godhatesfags.com’ website, Westboro Baptist Church will finish up their Tampa protests and set out for protests on April 22, 2010 in Boulder, Colorado.

I think instead of making it illegal for Westboro Baptist Church of crazies to picket funerals they should make it legal for people at the funeral to beat the crap out of the protesters until they leave or are rendered unconscious.
I dislike gays too........and disagree with the tolerance they are receiving in these days; however, these people are not christians. They are as evil as the homosexual life style, someone needs to take a torch to their church...

A group of college students from around Tampa Bay will be at the protest spots to accomplish two objectives: 1. we WILL drown out their hate speech with words and songs of love and peace and 2. we will be holding Lemonade stands at each location to raise money for local civil rights groups... please come out and support Love and Peace

They were just here in our home state of West Virginia holding signs stating that "God Hates our Dead Miners" and basically that God hates everything. We met them..and stared them down. It was a victory on the side of love. These people had small children with them, children trembling in fear. I do not understand why someone somewhere has not put a stop to their child abuse.
I challange Florida to meet them head on just like West Virginia did. And perhaps someone from childrens services should be there to see first hand the damage they are doing bringing their small children out in these crowds. Using them for shields..how is that not abuse?

How can you get up in the face of a grieving widow, who's husband is still buried under a mountain of dirt, and yell God hates your dead miners? These people are not just haters. They are true evil!! There is nothing human left inside these HATERS. They want to use the constitution and their rights as an american citizen to spread their lies and hatred but who gave their lives to give these haters that chance? Go to one of their rallies Florida!! Give them a rendition of AMAZING GRACE AS LOUD AS YOU CAN. Drown out their hate and make them run like WV did.
Have these people even read the Bible? They claim to be able to speak on behalf of God but they don't even know Him. I was so shocked to see this article today. If they don't want the protection of our soliders then let's free these people and deport them and let their god protect them. All I can say is pray for these people and don't stand next to them on judgment day......because God isn't going to be very happy with them. I think it's time to have a good old debate like in the old days and invite this church and then bring in some strong Gospel preachers to show them using the scriptures how off they are. These people remind me of Saul (Paul) when he pursecuted Christians in the name of God....how bad they are going to feel when they wake up and realize what they are doing to hurt so many innocent people. Pray for the Children - that they will realize what their parents are doing is wrong and not what God wants and pray they don't turn out just like them. Wow read Psalms 109!!

WOW!!!!REALLY? As a soldier myself, currently on deployment overseas in support of OIF, I have to say these retards need to be handled. Especially by a state like Florida, my home state. But if it were not for all of us serving, the idiots of this so called "Baptist Church" wouldn't even be able to picket. And as myself being baptist, I am outraged, and glad that I am 8000 miles away right now, because if I were home, I know a congregation that would be less ALL members, and a group of guys who would be serving life sentences. Maybe if they got jobs, careers, or volunteered their time, like most "baptists" do, they wouldn't have time to thank God for the very thing that my Brigade worries about on a daily basis.(IEDs) But, they are too busy talking about sh!t they don't know anything about,so can we blame them for being IGNORANT? No, but we can sure make them run and hide. Don't stand for this Florida, we ARE better than that!!

She has been having an affair with an unmarried pastor for over TEN years and now GOD will deal with her for her evil and self-centered lustful and horrific behavior which has caused so many in the body of Christ to stumble and fall! My 2 sons are everything to me. I watched them grow up as caring individuals. The recuiters got ahold of them and both signed up for the service. We were devastated! One did get deployed...Now fearing for his life daily... I know alot of you are against the war but picketing at the funeral is wrong. It's the last opportunity for families to remember their love ones. God be with you on your judgement calls.
Honestly, when West Virginia in Charleston rebelled by protesting along side them, it shut them up and they left. I think people should begin picketing at the WBC's family services, etc. Telling them its because the Mrs Shirley Phelps condemned their member for getting knocked up before being married -- since she said ohh no, thats a sin but all her sins are forgiven b/c of Christ dying for her. Apparently, they have double standards. Look up on youtube the Truth about Westboro Baptist Church, discussin the child abuse and other wrong things theyve done. They're like any other hypocrites, not thinking what they do is wrong until its done to them. They want THEIR rights protected, not others. I really cant stand these people, the amendment of speech and protests were created upon the impression ONLY until they begin to IMPOSE on other peoples rights!! They need to be stopped by the laws.

If these people are Calvanists, then they are already into wrong doctrine. Although God does not like or tolerate sin, you cannot minister to people in sin before telling them about the salvation message and God's love. Once people accept Jesus, then one can allow the Holy Spirit to minister to peoples hearts. It is not our role to convict people of sin and condemn them, although we are not to tolerate sin. This group is plainly not operating in the proper tenents of of biblical holiness and love.
I agree that there is a great deal of sin, compromise and unGodly behaviour and lifestyles in America, and issues need to be addressed, but the way they are doing it is very wrong and creates a poor impression of what true Zadok lifestyles in Christ are like. Yes rebuke over sin is needed, but the way this group is doing it is not right.

I have been a Baptist all my life. This church is an embarrasement to the Baptist Community. They surely are not Christian to protest in such a non-christian way.
They should all take their bibles and read them, maybe they will learn what God's love is and His compassion. I do not condone homosexualty but I sure do not hate them. I pray for them. It is people like the Westboro Church who give other christians a bad name. We real christians do not deserve this.
