St. Pete’s Michael Lynche sings This Woman’s Work on American Idol, brings Kara DioGuardi to tears
St. Petersburg’s Michael Lynche is hanging tough on this season’s American Idol and tonight, his version of Kate Bush’s This Woman’s Work brought judge Kara DioGuardi to tears.
Well, actually, it might be argued that it was Maxwell’s version This Woman’s Work that he sang (see below for both videos). Either way, the judges thought he was great and Simon Cowell said that our Florida homeboy gave the best performance of the entire season.
Tonight’s competition is important as tomorrow’s result show will determine who makes it into the top 12. For American Idol, making it into the top 12 is similar to becoming a member of a sorority group. The top 12 members get together for different American Idol events throughout the year, and of course, they are the ones who will perform on the American Idol summer tour.
The top 12 finalists also record the compilation albums after the season finale. You’ll also find past top 12 contestants hosting American Idol red carpet events, popping up on various television shows, and performing a number of different American Idol activities.
With Michael’s rendition of This Woman’s Work, it’s almost guaranteed that he’ll make the top 12, but due to what transpired with Daughtry, you can never be too sure.
