Mother of Sea World trainer killed by Tilikum the killer whale lives in Tampa Bay area (video)
The mother of the woman tragically killed by the whale she was training lives in Sun City Center, Florida. According to the Tampa Tribune, Marion Loverde, the mother of Dawn Brancheau, left for Kissimmee, Florida to mourn with Dawn’s family. The sudden death has shocked the nation and left the Tampa Bay area in sorrow as many question the safety of theme parks and specifically, those that feature large killer whales.
Though there had been initial confusion surrounding the events that transpired, Chuck Tompkins, who serves as chief of animal training for Sea World, verified that Dawn Brancheau was rubbing the whale, rewarding him for his performance during the show. The incident occurred immediately following a presentation at the Shamu Stadium and Tilikum was in between shows.
Chuck stated that the killer whale grabbed Dawn and pulled her into the tank, submerging her underwater. The autopsy results have just been released stating that Dawn suffered multiple traumatic injuries before drowning.

It has been determined by Sea World that Tilikum will remain in the Park, even though he has been blamed for the deaths of three individuals.
