Credits:

The Washington State 2009 election results are coming in, and the official vote from the 2009 Washington State ballot will start to be announced starting at 8:00 P.M. PST. These are just going to be preliminary numbers, as ballots will still be counted through the night. Washington State is voting on some very key issues this year, including Washington Initiative 1033 on state & local revenue caps, and Washington State Referendum 71 on domestic partner rights.

The City of Spokane will also be voting on three Spokane City Council positions, as well as four propositions that include funding for a Community Bill of Rights, a Spokane Bill of Rights, and a new Fire Bond. The votes are all important ones for how the city will be run in the coming years, and Spokane voters will start to see the results as the vote counts begin to be reported from the polling stations.

I am very disturbed by bias of the writers of the ballots. In order to get 71 passed, they have to disguise and try and manipulate people to vote for it. Do not write in circles, make it very obvious what the prop. stands for. I would be willing to bet if you ask most of the people that didn't want gay marriage to be legal voted for 71 because they were under the understanding that homosexuals would have all the same civil rights, EXCEPT legal marriage. Sad day when a simple vote can be misconstrued so much it is unrecognizable.
