Maurice Clemmons was named the prime suspect in the Lakewood shooting
Maurice Clemmons was shot and killed by police early Tuesday morning, and a press conference was held in response to the Clemmons shooting. The press conference was hosted by the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, where they detailed what took place after the Lakewood police shooting, and what happened when Maurice Clemmons was shot and killed.
At about 5:16 A.M. PST the press conference took place where it was explained what took place in the early morning hours of Tuesday. It was announced that it was the suspect from the Lakewood shooting that was killed, and he had a weapon belonging to one of the slain officers on his person. It was stressed that this was only preliminary information that they were relaying, and that the ongoing homicide investigation was separate from this conference.
The chief announced that around 2:45 A.M. a lone patrol officer with about seven years of experience on the job came across a stolen vehicle from earlier in the night. The officer saw that the car was still running, radioed the location, and then began a preliminary investigation of the scene. He detected movement behind him, and recognized a person approaching him as the possible suspect from the Lakewood police shooting. He ordered the suspect to stop and ordered the suspect to raise his hands, before the suspect starting moving. The officer fired shots that connected with the suspect, and then found that a firearm from the suspect matches the serial number of one taken from an officer at the Lakewood shooting.
The investigation is still on-going to finalize details of this shooting, and there are two witnesses that saw one or more parts of the altercation. At this time it doesn't appear as though the suspect fired upon the officer, and that the officer is currently being interviewed about what took place at the scene. It was further stated that everything indicates that Maurice Clemmons was the man who killed the four Lakewood police officers, and that Clemmons has been killed in this tragic ending to this massive manhunt.
It was also announced that three people were arrested for assisting Maurice Clemmons in his escape, including the driver of a vehicle that helped Clemmons leave the scene of the shooting in Parkland. The tie of the gun found on the suspect to the crime, a previous gunshot wound to Clemmons, and the fact that he resisted arrest all point towards Clemmons being the guilty party in this matter.

"It was further stated that everything indicates that Maurice Clemmons was the man who killed the four Lakewood police officers, and that Clemmons has been killed in this tragic ending to this massive manhunt."
I beg to disagree about this being a "tragic ending" to this massive manhunt. This was a tragic event involving the death of four good people. The death of this worthless parasite was NOT "tragic". There is nothing tragic about his death. Never again will some worthless, spineless, governor, judge, lawyer, or whatever, allow him free to harm other good people! This ended exactly as it should. The tragedy is that he wasn't killed many years ago.
"and that Clemmons has been killed in this tragic ending to this massive manhunt."
Actually, it was the best outcome imaginable. A teflon felon tries to sneak up on another cop, but gets his ass capped good.
No extra cost to the taxpayer for a stupid trial.
Done deal.
Good ending!
I think it was a tragic end to Huck's career.
Good, he's dead...time to bury the HONORED dead officers, give the officer that killed Clemmons a medal, send the funeral bills to Huckabee.
His life was just as precious to God as those cops. Period. Rest in peace.
"His life was just as precious to God as those cops. Period. Rest in peace."
...but his soul is discarded by God in his death, for eternity. Period.
Burn in Hell.
I think it was a tragic end to Huck's career.
Don't forget to consider the potential psychological impact on the officer who shot and killed Clemmons, regardless of whether it was justified. This is an additional factor to consider in determining whether it was a tragic ending to the manhunt.
Russo, he life was WORTHLESS & he should rot in HELL not peace & IMO ANYBODY that wants him to rest in peace can rot along w/ him.
The good news is he is off the streets.
Those pigs got what they deserved.
re: John Krakowski How do you know they "got what they deserved".?
Did you know any of them?
john krakowski, sound like you might be the next canidate for a hot lead appendectomy. Save society the trouble and gut shoot yourself, fu*khead.
I think it was a tragic end to Huck's career.
