A two car collision took place on Monday afternoon that killed a man trying to drive across Highway 195. According to KHQ, the man who died had tried to cross 195 in a Subaru coming from Mullen Hill. He stopped at the intersection before beginning to cross Highway 195, but was hit by an on-coming truck.

The collision took place around 12:30 P.M. and the sad result was that a man died on the scene almost immediately. In that area of Highway 195, the speed limit is 55 miles per hour, with many cars joining the road for just a short time before exiting off to one of the side roads. It is also a very busy road with limited ability to be crossed, and as such a lot of caution needs to be taken when attempting to drive across.

The man who died was reported to be 57-years-old, and he was hit by a truck that was driving southbound on the highway. The identity of the victim has not yet been released; pending notification of his family. The driver of the truck was reported to have suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Highway 195 is in Eastern Washington, and links the cities of Spokane and Colfax. Many people travel on this highway as they make their way from Spokane to Pullman.
