Droid phone reviews: Droid does it right for Motorola and Verizon Phones

Droid phone reviews have to please Motorola already. Droid phone reviews are definitely turning out to be pretty positive for the flashy new Motorola Droid, but customers are expecting nothing less after all of the publicity that surrounded the release of the phone. One review in particular is even calling the Droid phone the best one on the Verizon network. That's very high praise for a phone that was just released this past week, and with consumers looking for decisive reviews on the Droid to decide if they should purchase one, there will be no short supply in opinions on how well the Droid actually works.

Droid phone reviews are quick to point out some of the great features that the phone has to offer, including a 3.7 inch screen (that's a tad larger than the iPhone), the ability to run multiple applications at once, and the selling point that the Droid is on the extensive Verizon network. Anyone that watches television commercials has seen the new Verizon commercials by now, where Verizon seeks to let everyone know that their network is much better than the AT&T offerings. From purely a standpoint of looking at the facts, the Verizon network is always receiving better grades and ratings than the AT&T network because of how wide their network coverage is, and how few dropped calls that Verizon experiences.

Right now Verizon is selling the Motorola Droid for $199.00 after their $100.00 rebate, so its final price is the same as the Apple iPhone 3G S. One of the items that Verizon is trying to offer though, is cheaper cell phone plans that can allow someone to get in the door at a lower rate than people choosing the iPhone with AT&T. It could end up being a wash for some users because of how many minutes they may need during the month, and the fact that the Droid still comes with a 'pay per month' data plan for web and e-mail. That's where the Droid phone reviews come in to play, and if consumers remain this happy with how well the Droid is performing out of the box, there could be a major shift in the industry from the iPhone over to the Droid.

One of the most important things that potential Droid owners should look at in their purchasing decision is whether the additional costs that it could take to run the Droid at its fullest capacity will be worth it. The PC World Droid review should be of particular interest to people before they make the decision to invest in one of the Motorola Droid's

The PC World Review turns out to be factually inaccurate as evidenced by responses of actual VZW employees in the comments section to that article. You might want to amend your story here.

The data plan that PC world refers to is WRONG!!! the data plan that comes with the phone (droid) for $29.99 is absolutely UNLIMITED! period. Just like ALL the data plans vzw offers for it's smart phones. The tether option does have a 5GB cap. and the i phone CAN NOT TETHER...

    Conversation with VZ regarding this

Christy: ..May I help you with your order today?
You: I am reading about the DROID
    Christy: Awesome!
Christy: I'd be happy to help you with that.
You: I read some where that the data plan for VZ is not very attractive (5gb cap)
You: I understand that could be seen as plenty
You: but why is it advertised as "unlimited"
Christy: The $29.99 data package is unlimited to the email and web that the droid requires.
You: Christy could you send me a link to the data package plan?
You: I would like to read it in its entirety
    Christy: I sure can.
Christy: Please hold on while I check that information.
You: Also... is there a reason why Exchange cost more? Mind me, I am a VZ customer and really want the DROID, but reviews have VZ as penny pinching their customers
Christy: Unfortunately it is located on the select features page.
You: NP... I'll get to it. But VZ seems to be messing up something so good (DROID) because of their small print. Thanks

Been using my Droid non-stop since i got it on Friday. It is fan-effing-tastic. Automatically synced all my Google and FB contacts, and the VZ rep transferred my existing contacts. It merged those it could into a single contact on the phone by full first and last name. This will be fine 99.99% of the time. For that other .01% you can unmerge contact info to separate contacts. The media player works GREAT. The list of available apps is already great, and just a matter of time until it's as sizeable as the iPhone's list of available apps. Voice dialing and voice search work amazingly well, super accurate and fast. Takes amazing quality vids, but the photo quality tends to be a little washed out. Integration with gmail, as expected is utterly seamless, even with multiple gmail accounts. SMS messaging is super simple and intuitive. Love the notifications pull-down bar at the top of the screen. Setting up my Google Voice account. ... to be continued...

Got the car cradle so when i get in, i jack it into my stereo and snap the phone into the cradle. Phone automatically goes into the 'in-car' home screen that's optimized for navigation. Voice activated navigation works SO well, goes seamlessly to turn-by-turn nav mode, zooming to google street view when close to destination. Acts as in-car hands-free phone when jacked in like this. NICE. Can easily access music library to keep the tunes rolling too.

Can't get enough of this phone. Any iPhonee that insists this phone is "2nd best" is just a fanboy, period. This phone stands up to an iPhone in any comparison, and bests it in some ways. (video, swappable battery, hard keyboard, etc)

I had the iPhone for 2 years, when I started looking at the Droid I was skeptical but the other day when my call dropped twice during a one hour call I decided that was the last time At&t was going to drop my call. I went and purchased the Droid and I am extremely happy with it, what I don't understand is why they didn't advertise the google earth directions that the Droid is able to give you all the while speaking aloud the directions to you, when I saw that I nearly c*me in my pants lmao. It's awesome, I have all my bars in the elevator of my 40th floor condo building AND I had my yahoo contacts and email imported by Gmail thanks to one of their 3 welcoming emails, I don't have to change my email address either because it will send it and receive from my yahoo. It pretty much does and has everything my iPhone has only the Droid can keep and make phone calls.

This is one of the best phones released for verizon network. The touchscreen is amazingly accurate especially coming from the voyager which touchscreen sucks in accuracy. So they really improved it when making this phone. Multi-tasking music player is also a plus when your on those bored days with nothing to do besides texting. Some things that need to be worked on are some of the glitches that the phone produces such as the phone restarting when doing something such as scrolling through text messages on the phone but you can fix this by resetting the phone which I found out on LG-Darecom. But I believe the restarting problems can be fixed in a firmware update. But the phone has alot of tricks and features which you might not figure out until a couple of days after you get the phone. I know LG made a site thats basically a picture manual for the LG Dare and it really helped learn the phone also. www.cdmacellulars.com
