Arrow Trucking news is not good for employees, as the Arrow Trucking Company is closing its doors. The Arrow Trucking Company is rumored to be bankrupt now, but it seems that Arrow Trucking really didn't care about their employees in the end. It is being reported that some Arrow Trucking employees didn't find out they were out of a job until their gas cards were rejected while they were on the job across the country. Arrow Trucking has made sure that its employees won't be having the merriest of Christmases now.
Arrow Trucking still has several web pages up that talk about their "commitment" including this one where they claim to be "experienced and professional", with "the highest level of transportation services to our customers as well as an exceptional work environment to our drivers" (that web site is here). Apparently that is just a line that they were using to make more money, and founder Jim Pielsticker would be saddened if he saw how his employees are now being treated.
KLTV out of Texas is reporting that there was a message for Arrow truckers sent out that they have until Thursday morning to return their trucks or they will have theft charges filed against them. That's a pretty low blow to employees that have been working for years for Arrow Trucking, and who may still be on route to far-off destinations in the United States. The fact that some of these drivers didn't find out that they were being laid off until they tried to re-fuel their trucks is about as bad as it can get from an employee standpoint.
Arrow Trucking has done wrong by their employees, and couldn't have picked a worse time of year to turn their backs on the people who made the company a success. KTRK out of Houston reported that paychecks to employees last week have bounced at the banks, and that now drivers aren't expecting to get paid for this week's worth of work either. This is a terrible time for these Arrow truck drivers who were simply trying to make a living and ended up having their company take advantage of them. It would not be a surprise to see a law-suit with many of these drivers suing the company in the very near future.

Theft charges are outragous. These sacks of crap left drivers with no fuel cards. What are driver to do, call home and get money to drive truck to Arrow? I would sell all the chains, binders and tarps at a truckstop to get my pay, leave the difference in the seat along with the keys at the truckstop.
I would do all that as well CHris, but I would keep even the difference. I work for a major flatbed company myself and it sickens me to hear about this abrubt closing. My family would suffer so much cuz my wife doesn't work and we rely on my pay to do everything. They told the drivers to take the trucks to the nearest Freightliner and find their own way home. I'd make it as close to my house as the fuel would let me and leave the truck on the side of the road for them to worry about. If they can treat their employees like dirt then they better not expect them to do something nice for the company that just ruined their Christmas, family lives and possibly their careers behind the wheel for the rest of their working lives. Arrow is lower than low and I hope the ppl who let this happen rot in a very hot place!!!
Chris, you forgot the wheels. All 18 of them.
jews bought this companey while it was proffitable and looted it. Of course they dont care about the workers.
INFURIATING! Prayers go out to the drivers and employees that were taken advantage of and for lack of a better phrase "screwed over!" So sad!
Hang it there, they told us.
No problems! All the rumors you're hearing are just rumors.
Don't worry, all is good!
Well keep chanting that garbage to yourselves Pielstickers-
your troubles have just begun!
Attention Arrow drivers: If you are driving an International, please take it to the nearest International dealership. Navistar Financial wants to help you get home and is offering a bus ticket or $200 cash. For help, please call Navistar Financial at 800-233-9121 and select #3 for customer service. If you call outside of business hours, please leave a message with your name, a phone number where we can reach you, your current location, and the VIN number of your truck.
I've worked in management for a small trucking company for years. Arrow has always been the one to drive the rates down to nothing to keep all of the small firms out of the picture. The shippers ate this up too! I feel terribly sorry for all the company drivers and owner / operators. Management? They got what they deserved, and the shippers who worshipped these cheap rates got what they deserve too: Their loads being stranded all across the country. Good luck to all of the employees who were treated poorly.
I just want to ditto what Chris said..I think Arrow should have been big enough to warn people in advance, these drivers are humans with families and it is christmas week !!! The "boy" that took over Arrow when his dad died, I am sure, is having a great christmas at HOME with his family, buying gifts with money made by the drivers, and now filtered into off-shore accounts.
Let them file theft charges, stealing the pay out of employees pockets is theft, too. If they think the NLRB won't see some actions filed on behalf of the Arrow employees the Pielstickers stiffed paying wages to, they live in dreamland.
Goodbye to Arrow, a bunch of low-class, rate-cutting bottom feeders. The trucking industry needs to see more like you fail and get out of this business.
1 year ago today I was hired with Arrow. One month later, I told them to shove it. I honestly thought they would last 2 years from that time. But now I really know they were worse than I thought. Arrow was not a good company to begin with. As for them claiming to file "theft", they cannot get by with that. Not under these circumstances. company trucks are still the company responsibility to get them to their facilities, and provide fuel for them.
I'am very sad to see Arrow go through this Arrow has ran in my family for many years, both of my parents worked there, and my dad still did up until this happened, my grandpa worked there for many years to as well! And one of my friends mom's worked there, and even my cousin Jennifer did at one time to as well!!! I think that the way they closed there doors, and did there truck drivers was very wrong!!!!!!
They're lucky it aint me..cuz when da check bounces..da load,da trailer and da tractor get sold on da spot..come see me if u don't like it.I pulled cans for 15yrs..To my brother drivers..god bless..they did yall dirty..
I understand that it is hard for the company to make ends meet and that they may have had to close their doors, but I am sure they knew before they sent these family men out on their last runs.
The threat of charges just adds insult to injury. It breaks my heart for them and their families. They will be in our prayers.
May they all make it home soon and safe.
I've read a couple of the stories on this.Corporate greed has killed our economy and now the marginally run companies are closing.Good riddance to those companies, but I do pity the folks that work for them.
I did look and notice that the company still has ads to hire drivers and attract customers.Maybe the drivers should get a lawyer to sue for false advertising among other things. However they are just working class people and the legal eagles would just take the payout as fees.On top of that I'm sure the owner has used our great legal system to hide/protect his assets.
Doesn't anyone just do the right thing anymore because it is the right thing?
I don't think the company did this on purpose. I own a company and have several friends that do. some of the have had to shut the doors becuase people are not paying them and or the banks cuts the line of credits. This isn't coroprate greed.
Corporate greed is the bankers that have cause this bad economy this includes goldman saks.
most company's are not greedy i went without a paycheck so i can give my employees extra money for xmas becuase all of there spouse are layed off. so back off the corporate greed it is teh big companies that don't care
Yea i went to work for the regional division of Arrow and lasted 6 weeks. They said i would bring home at least $750 per week and that turned out to be $400 per week. I quit them and went to work locally. That is so screwed up with what they done to their drivers. NO fuel cards, and no pay check but want to file charges if you don't return the Truck. Lawsuits coming
I would think that abandoning drivers and shutting their fuel cards off would/should amount to wreckless endangerment charges. And by the way "Timims" this is corporate greed to the highest!
HEY HEY WAKE UP AMERICANS WHY DON'T YOU JUST OUTSOURCE THESE JOBS AND CORPORATIONS TO THE CHINESE AND INDIANS. WHY DON'T YOU DO THIS SINCE MOST OF OUR CEO'S OF AMERICA HAVE BEEN DOING THIS AND YOU HAVE BEEN SITTING THERE WITH YOUR HEAD IN THE SAND.
WHY DON'T YOU DO THIS SINCE YOU DON'T THINK ABOUT THE LONG TERM
AND WHILE YOUR AT WHY DON'T YOU PAY THE CHINESE BACK WITH OUR PHYSICAL ASSETS.
What has happened at Arrow is just plain wrong,to say the least!as a person who has driven for 30 yrs,for many companies, have been treated poorly by some, but never was I treatd the way Arrow has treated there drivers.
All I can say is,the first time my payroll check bounced,I would be GONE!,but to cut off fuel cards, and threaten to charge the driver with theft is over the top.Really think a class action law suit should be considred.
Got something to say?
