“I strive to share and make the world a better place through helping others,” says a beautiful and fit Jill Tarpley. “I live to inspire, not impress.”
Tarpley, an ambassador for the Quarry Market’s lululemon athletica sports apparel store, could not have picked a better backdrop than the inspiring and impressive Majestic Theater in downtown San Antonio.
“I simply want to lay my head down at night and know that I made the difference in just one person’s life,” Tarpley proclaims. “I work hard not to make myself better than anyone else, but to hopefully light a fire in someone that will inspire then and encourage their own hearts to persevere and grow.”
A team of enthusiastic ambassadors from lululemon athletica were staged in front of the Majestic recently doing promotion work.
Tourists and downtown residents stood in wonderment, not at the historical theater, but at Tarpley, as Bob French, from R.C. French Photography snapped her.
Jennifer Rulon, who supervised the photo shoot, enthusiastically described how their new store not only offers “high-quality workout gear and specialty clothes, we are very much into personal growth.”
While two businessmen from a nearby office posed with Tarpley, Rulon explained how they “provide education, yoga and various workout classes while we give back to our community right here in San Antonio.”
Tarpley flawlessly represented the essence of the company culture of creating way for people to live longer, healthier and have more fun lives with her yoga poses, smiling face and friendly demeanor.
Tarpley’s passion for movement began while training as a young girl to dance professionally. She studied and pursued a dance career in New York, then returned home to San Antonio to earn BA in American Studies from UTSA.
Last fall she completed a teacher training course in Bikram Yoga in Acapulco, where she was named “Best Yogini” out of her class of 310 students.
Tarpley is also a choreographer/mentor for Insight Dance Ensemble and director of the Youth Outreach Program. The dance teacher has taken her talents to shows and children of Nicaragua, Africa and Thailand.
What is the key to her passion and success?
“It's simple,” says Tarpley.”I love what I do, who I do it with and who I do it for.”
