Yesterday, after a four day trial Nicole Howell was found not guilty of having sex with a 16-year-old male student. She passed the polygraph test, and spoke out in court in her own defense in an attempt to clear her own name. Howell, 26 was found not guilty, but said that her reputation is ruined in spite of that.
The 16-year-old Kentucky football player said they had sex 4 times in her apartment and that she gave him vodka, and they exchanged hundreds of text messages. The phone company deleted copies of the text messages, so they were never seen.
Howell said that she was trying to be nice and she realizes now that she should’ve put a stop to text messages from the boy, but she just blew off the situation. Howell said that many people over reacted and saw what they wanted to see. Howell believes that her life is ruined and she won’t be able to teach again, even though it was proven that she was innocent. She is currently working for a local bank and she is able to use her education as a trainer.
The 16-year-old boy on the other hand was proven to be a liar, according to Howell’s attorney, and nothing has happened or most likely won’t happen to him. The attorney plans to file some civil litigation, but he doesn’t believe anything will happen to the 16-year-old boy.
In Salt Lake City, two teachers were recently accused of having sex with the same 13-year-old student. The two teachers were arrested and pled not guilty. They will stand trial, but a court date has yet to be set.
