John Allen Muhammad is scheduled to be taken to the death chamber at 9 pm EST Tuesday to die by lethal injection. The Governor of Virginia, Tim Kaine denied a last-minute clemency request (stating that Muhammad is mentally ill) on Tuesday, and that was his last possibility of a stay. It should take about five minutes for Muhammad to die once the injection has been given. The CNN video below explains how lethal injection works.
In 2002, John Muhammad, also known as the DC Sniper killed ten people over a three week shooting spree is scheduled to die tonight by lethal injection in Virginia. Muhammad killed ten people by sniper, no one knew who would be killed or where, and it left the entire Washington DC area in fear for their life. The youngest person to die was a 13-year-old boy killed while walking to school.
Muhammad still claims that he is innocent, but after two lengthy trials and appeals and testimony from his accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo, the people were convinced he was guilty and he was sentenced to death by lethal injection.
34 states still have the death penalty in place, but it is rarely used. Utah is one of those states, but only six people have been executed since 1976. Ten people are currently on death row and held in Draper at the state prison. Firing squad is the current method of execution if lethal injection is held unconstitutional.

If you're interested in maximum suffering, a botched lethal injection is probably one of the most excruciating. Second would a botched hanging where the person execute must dangle from the rope for 20 minutes of more suffacating, because their neck isn't broken. As far as humane, the Utah firing squad is is probably the quickest and least likely to be botched. JMO

I am sorry for all those families who lost loved ones which does not excluded Muhammad's wife & children. I feel for Muhammad himself as a man who most likely died without coming to a saving knowledge of Christ. Thus, he will face the worst pronouncement any human will face. Do I believe the death penalty is right? Yes I do. I believe the punishment should fit the crime. If a person knowingly murders another, they have made a choice to do it.
Think about this for a second.. If some one kills a cat or a dog, people are screaming for blood. Yet the murder of a person is covered over or litigated away. So I guess animals have more rights than people? One of the problems in this country is that justice is not served which then leads people to scheme. Exactly ACL...it is not even that John Muhammad killed that he will spend eternity in a lake of fire. It is because he has not believed and trusted in what Jesus did to save him. Just think he could have been saved before he died but he chose not to. It says in the Bible that God sends them strong delusion so that they would not believe and be saved.
