Thursday, many national retailers announced that they will celebrate Christmas in July over the next few days, and will have prices as low as Black Friday prices on thousands of items. Toys R Us, Target, Kmart, Sears, and many online retailers are participating in the Christmas in July sale.
According to the Associated Press, earlier this year, when the economy appeared to be recovering many retailers purchased more merchandise that isn’t moving, and the Christmas in July promotion is an attempt to get things moving again.
Many websites are offering free shipping on orders above a certain amount. Sears announced that they will play Christmas music through July 25 in 500 of their stores.
Toys "R" Us online is offering free shipping through Saturday, and bonus deals in their stores on July 23 and 24.
On July 26, many online stores will have Cyber Monday…just like the one that occurs the Monday after Thanksgiving.
Old Navy will offer their back to school discounts beginning Friday, July 23 at 9 a.m., and their sales are only offered in stores. Students and teachers with school identification will also receive 25 percent off their entire purchase on Friday at Old Navy.
Utah Toys R Us, Target, Kmart, Sears, and Old Navy stores are participating in the Christmas in July and Black Friday sales.
