On Friday, a Facebook page called "Kick a Ginger Day" told children to kick any red headed kid they saw that day. Red-headed kids from around the US and Canada were kicked and beaten because of the page, police said.
A 12-year-old red headed boy was beaten in a California middle school because of a Facebook page that encouraged people to specifically target red headed children. The police stated that the 12-year-old boy was beaten twice on Friday in two seperate incidents by 7th and 8th graders. The boy attends A.E. Wright Middle School in Calabasas, California.
Police said that they think the idea may have come from a South Park episode.
Another 13-year-old red headed boy in British Columbia was kicked several times as he made his way to classes throughout the day for the same reason (see photo). Neither of the boys were seriously hurt.
The Kick a Ginger Day Facebook page has been removed, but someone created a Facebook page for discussion, click here for that page.

this has been going on for a while...a bunch of kids were expelled from an elite ny private school in 2008 for creating a face book group encouraging a kick a ginger day.
I can't believe you would say that! That is the dumbest thing I ever heard! I love red-heads, the redder the better... I think it's wrong that people would do that. I think if South Park is going to do something stupid like that, they should put some sort of disclaimer.
