Photos of Marie Osmond's son's quiet funeral that took place Monday

Michael Bryan Blosil’s funeral took place Monday in Utah, he was the son of Marie Osmond. Donny Osmond opened with a prayer. "Bless my sister," he said in a tearful voice. "Bless my sister and her family."

Approximately 450 mourners attended the funeral service services at a chapel near the Provo, Utah temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson was also in attendance.

Michael Bryan was one of five children adopted by Marie Osmond and her ex-husband Brian Blosil. His siblings spoke during the service and each one made lighthearted jokes that they were their brother’s favorite. They said that he was a “lighthearted person and a deep thinker who had a brilliant sense of humor and a kind, generous heart,” according to the Associated Press.

Blosil, 18, committed suicide and jumped from the eighth floor of his apartment building in Los Angeles over a week ago. Blosil left a detailed suicide note. For more on that story, click here.

Rachel Blosil, Michael’s sister said that, "He knew my hopes, he knew my dreams, my secrets, things that nobody knows. He was my best friend."

Stephen Craig, the oldest of Marie Osmond children said: "He was an intricate part of our family. Each member of our family and every person here is better for having met him."

"My brother Michael loved me the most," said Abigail Blosil, 7, who made the congregation laugh. "My brother wrote a song about me that said I made him very happy. See, he did love me the most."

Marie Osmond, who did not plan to speak at the funeral service said that she was thankful for the support and prayers since his death, and said she that Michael’s birth mother gave her the greatest gift. "Thank you for those beautiful 18 years."

Marie Osmond and her siblings sung a hymn at the end of the service. The group included Alan, Merrill, Jay, Wayne, Donny and Jimmy. The song was signed by Marie’s two deaf brothers, Tom and Virl who joined in.

Michael was laid to rest at the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery in Provo, Utah on Monday. Family members wrote handwritten messages on orange balloons and released them into the air.
