Brittany Murphy’s funeral planned for Christmas Eve, autopsy and toxicology information (photos). Brittany Murphy’s body has been released by the coroner to a Hollywood memorial park called Forest Lawn, Wednesday. A “strictly private” memorial service has been scheduled for Christmas Eve. This is the same memorial park where Bette Davis, Lucille Ball, and John Ritter are buried, the NY Daily News reported.
Brittany Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, and her mother Sharon have been helping each other through her death. Monjack told the NY Daily News Tuesday, "I haven't slept." "Sharon and I are getting each other through, taking turns crying."
Although the autopsy was completed Monday, the cause of death will not be released until the toxicology reports come back, which will take 4-6 weeks.
There has been some speculation about drug use, and an eating disorder being partially to blame for Murphy’s death, but according to her autopsy report she weighed 115 pounds at the time of her death. Murphy was 5’ 5” tall, and that was within medical recommendation for a female of that height.
Brittany Murphy died Sunday morning after collapsing in her bathroom. Murphy went into cardiac arrest, was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead at the scene at 10:04 am Sunday. To read information about the autopsy report and the list of medications Murphy was taking, click here.
