Lizzie Miller Glamour plus size model nude photo

Lizzie Miller is a plus size model who is in the September issue of Glamour magazine nude.  The photo is one that people can't stop talking about and Lizzie is amazed by this comment.  In an interview this morning on the Today Show, Lizzie Miller said that she can't believe that people actually like th photo.  She expected to hear a lot of negative comments about her body.

Lizzie Miller, 20 is a size 12, and in the modeling world where an 8 is considered a plus size…she looks fantastic.

The editor-in-chief of Glamour magazine, Cindi Leive wrote in her blog:

It's a photo that measures all of three by three inches in our September issue, but the letters about it started to flood my inbox literally the day Glamour hit newsstands. (As editor-in-chief, I pay attention to this stuff!) "I am gasping with delight...I love the woman on p 194!" said one...then another, and another, and another and another and another. So...who is she? And what on earth is so special about her?

You be the judge…how do you think she looks?

I think it’s great!!! She looks amazing, healthy and beautiful! I am so glad to see a a beautiful girl like this model than some poor girl who has starved themselves into an emaciated mess. I would love to see more healthy models!

THIS MADE MY DAY :) I have been struggling with an eating disorder and doing my best just embrace the body I have and to see this gorgeous woman with the same curves as me, sitting naked with a HUGE smile on her face makes me smile too :) YAY for normalcy and body acceptance... life is too short to keep hating ourselves!

I like her curves. She's not bony. She's very sexy. And I bet when she stands up, she looks even better because you can see her hips, butt, etc - all the rest of the beautiful curves that you know she has. How do you know she has curves? Because she not a freakin' skeleton! Thanks for the refreshing glimpse of reality.

She is gorgeous and is a very positive role model for girls and women. I applaud Glamour for stepping out and doing something different. This is a much better example of beauty for my daughters and grand daughters. Thank you for taking a chance. I hope all of the positive response changes Glamour and other women's magazines' attitudes.

I stopped buying womens magazines about 5 years ago, due to the fact that they only show skinny women. I decided that I wasn't going to pay to be made to feel unattractive. I was very pleased to see such a photo as Lizzie Miller on a fashion magazine. I think I will wait and see if anymore such photos are published before I subscribe again. Unfortunately, the people who run such magazines have yet to get a clue as to what real women want. Also, my husband says that real men like curvy women not ones who look like little boys.

My girl got curves too .. and she's not fat. Lizzie is hot.. not as hot as my girl but yeah. I'm tired of the super skinny women on the magazines. I've always enjoyed a woman with meat on her bones.

Hopefully we'll see more of this Lizzie Miller.

When I read another article (without pics), I was afraid I'd find a whale. Given that "fat acceptance" has formed a perfect storm with the rising obesity trend, I was braced for the worst. So I'm pleasantly surprised to see this voluptuous woman instead. If that pic is an indicator, it looks like she could use a bit of tone, but size-wise, there's no problem at all.

I agree with those others who have posted...I'd rather see someone who looks like the average woman then someone who looks anorexic anyday. Every magazine, fashion or otherwise, should use models who look more like the girl next door than the girl leaning over the toilet tossing her cookies. Would be nice to see men do the same thing, not everyone has a 6 or 8 pack...hint hint.

Finally a real photo! I'm a Size 12 too! I see myself in this photo as a beautiful women. Self-esteem would improve if we could see more women being happy with themselves...in their true sizes and not being air-brushed. Thank you!

Just like all women shouldn't be considered overweight if they're a size 12 (like me too!), remember that not all thin woman are anorexic or bulemic. My best friend growing up was a twig and I can promise you that we both cough heat from other people. Jokes like "go eat a cheeseburger" are just as mean and hurtful as "why don't you cut back on the cheeseburgers" to a woman.

    April Stine-
You should look into reviving your Glamour subscription, they are the most body love directed magazine without being too pushy pushy about weight that I have been reading. They receontly had a whole spread of plus sized model Crystal Renn-GORGEOUS. And it was an entire spread, not just a quarter page. Granted it was in May so there's always room for more but I feel that's much better than only featuring a plus sized model when they do an article about loving yourself at any size (which is the only time when most other magazines break out the bigger girls).

Umm, that woman is 'Plus' sized? I think a lot of women would be very happy to be in that kind of shape (and their men happy too).

If she looks like this at 20, what about at 40 or 60? I had a tummy like that and had a tummy tuck. I feel much better about myself. I was miserable when I had a belly like that, but I was 50 years old. Wait till she hits 50.

While I appreciate that Glamour included a model who is not a toothpick, I really don't think a woman with a fat roll is something that we should all be applauding. Just because America is ballooning up to epic sizes and the "average" woman keeps getting bigger and bigger... it doesn't make it healthy or desirable. (Not that most of the other barely-there models in Glamour are healthy or desirable either...) I understand that not everyone was born to be a size 2 or 4, but let's cheer on plus size models who are in shape and living up to their full healthy potential. Cardio and a few crunches here and there never hurt anyone.

She's 180 lbs!!!! America. SERIOUSLY. How are you guys ok with that?

I'm a medium sized male at 166 lbs at 5'11. The same height as her.

And I don't have an army of photoshoppers or lighting to make me feel better. This is an American "real woman". I bet you all money she looks a heckuva lot different in person. But she makes all you 5'3 size 12 stay at home moms feel a lot better, right? Even though she's almost six foot tall? Coz she's a "real woman".

Hell YES! Those typical models need to go grab a cheeseburger or twelve... THIS is what beauty looks like! Any of you guys that don't like it need to get out of your mom's basement and go meet some *real* women. She looks like she's probably a lot more fun to be around... not obsessive about her body image.

    Absolutely beautiful!

It's just genetics how her face doesn't get fat while the rest of her does.

She won't be laughing in five years... it gets harder and harder to loose weight as one ages.

Her fat legs are unhealthy... and she's going to gain more weight as she ages.

Why cheer someone that is on the road to diabetes?

She can afford a personal trainer... she's lazy.

    Terrible "role model."

"the sad thing is that all these guys saying that she is fat are probably fat and ugly themselves. talk about double standard!"

BS, I'm 53, work out by circuit-training at the gym ever other day and I have an exercise bike at home.

As you get older, it's harder to loose fat.

This woman is a poor example... she's young and just lazy.

There is no pride in being overweight... it's just a lack of self discipline.

    Eat less and exercise.

Her genetics are that her face does not build up fat... that will change in time.

She will be diabetic if her allows her legs to get much heaver.

She will start to get fat rolls on her arms soon.

That is NOT THE PICTURE OF A HEALTHY PERSON.

Go ahead have your Paris Hiltons, I'll take Lizzie in a heartbeat. Her legs and hips are BEAUTIFULLY GORGEOUS. This is an extremely sexy thick gurl! 5'11, 180lbs, beautiful face, killer curves. I think I'm in heaven just looking at her picture!
