Brittany Murphy died suddenly Sunday morning and the autopsy has already been completed. Brittany Murphy died of cardiac arrest.
The Los Angeles Coroner’s office stated that the cause of death will be deferred, "pending the rest of the other tests including toxicology, neuropathology [brain analysis], and histopathology [analysis of other organs]," LA County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told Us. The process usually takes 4-6 weeks.
Winter said that there was "no evidence of trauma to the body." Winter said that the death "appears to be natural."
Brittany Murphy, 32, was pronounced dead at 10:04 am Sunday morning at L.A. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She was found in the bathroom unconscious at her Hollywood Hills home.
Murphy’s father Angelo Bertolotti told Us that "Brittany never had a heart problem before, so I don't understand how she died."
Brittany Murphy was at the House of Hype Gifting Suites at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah in January 2008.
