Annie Le murder was a result of workplace violence Raymond Clark arrested

Workplace violence is defined by Wikipedia as:  “incidents where people are abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances relating to their work, involving an explicit or implicit challenge to their safety, well-being, or health.”

In 2002, there were approximately 2 million threats and assaults that occurred in the workplace, according to Pinkerton’s annual security survey.  Every day, 16,400 threats are made, and 723 workers are attacked and harassed.  And every year, more than 1,000 are victims of homicide, according to a report from the Salt Lake Community College.

Annie Le, a student at Yale University was a victim of workplace violence, and was murdered over a week ago allegedly by Raymond Clark, III a lab technician who was a co-worker.  Raymond Clark was arrested this morning in connection with Annie Le’s murder.  Annie Le was found in a wall in the basement where she worked near the Yale University campus.  AP Photo.

According to the Yale University President, in a press conference this morning, Raymond Clark has been an employee since December of 2004, and his supervisor stated that there is nothing in his employment history that indicated that there was a problem.

Most colleges and universities across the country have a workplace violence policy.  Yale University also has a security awareness workplace violence policy, in addition to an intimate partner at work violence policy, which helps victims report the situation.  Many schools offer training and assistance for individual situations.  Speaking to a supervisor and reporting the issue is the first step, and then taking it to Human Resources so that there is a record of the situation and so that they may help to calm the situation if possible.

Although Annie Le’s friends never mentioned that she was having any problems with a co-worker, something clearly developed the day she was murdered.

N.B.: She wasn't "murdered" by him: he's a suspect until proven otherwise by the courts. Innocent until proven guilty. Even if everything points in his direction right now.

No robbery, no sexual assault. She was probably acting like a self-entitled Yale c*nt towards him, and he snapped. To be honest, I don't feel so bad for her anymore, I've been around those Ivy League types.

Annie Le was obviously very charismatic and very busy (working on 2 doctorate degrees, planning a wedding, socializing, learning a foreign language, etc.)....
maybe too busy to be "mindful" of the suffering of the animals
    on which she was experimenting.
Lab technicians are in the position to witness the treatment of lab animals...and it must be very sad to see the "helpless" and "voiceless" animals suffer.
Some people have a "gut reaction" to cruelty, and i imagine this is the situation here.
Don't be surprised if Yale tries to stifle the media from reporting Raymond's emails regarding Annie's treatment of the lab animals...they don't want PETA at there door.

To the sack of s**t who just stated justification for the murder of a HUMAN BEING on account of RODENTS used to find cures for the conditions that will, one day, keep (or have already kept) him/her or one of his/her family members alive: You and all those like you are the ones who don't deserve to live, because you are stating that none of us deserve to live, because rodents' lives are more important than OURS. You PETA people are sick, and even if this girl were a low-life criminal, her life would still be more important than a mouse's life. But she wasn't a low-life or a criminal. She was a tiny, physically defenseless, intellectually gifted, and emotionally caring human being, who loved people, loved life, and loved her calling to find cures for human disease, sickness, and misery. It is she who has the healthy, moral view on reality and life, and it is all those like YOU (PETA trash) who need attitude adjustments - to put it mildly. Disgusting, vile trash is what you are.

Was the girl a workplace bully or one of a group of workplace bullys who tormented the guy until he couldnt take it any longer? I have seen other cases where the person will come to work with a gun and start shooting and upon investigation it is found that the person with the gun was being harrassed at work by mean co-workers.

Statistically, it is much more likely that Clark bullied Le. For starters, according to "Self-Defense for Bullied Employees" by Robert Mueller, J.D., "80 percent of those bullied at work are women."

Even if Le did bully Clark — highly unlikely given reports about her personality — there's never any excuse for workplace bullying or violence.

However, universities are breeding grounds for bullies. I expect that's especially true of research universities, where women professionals remain a small minority.

Someone suggested Le didn't keep the cages clean? That WAS Clark's job. She was a researcher.

If Clark hated brilliant Ivy league students, why take a job at Yale?

This looks like the case of a loser who sees an intelligent, beautiful woman with a promising future and says to himself: "She thinks she's better than me."

Legally murder hasn't been proven but DNA says Clark is guilty. I believe the police are keeping a lid on information until they get their ducks in a

FYI, I was low on the percent of women bullied. From the article I quoted above, "Self-Defense for Bullied Employees":

"Almost half of all employees have been targeted by a workplace bully. According to a March 2007 study by the Employment Law Alliance, 44 percent of us have been bullied by an abusive manager or supervisor.
    * 81% of bullies are managers.
    * 50% of bullies are women, and 50% are men.
    * 84% of targets are women.
    * 82% of targets ultimately lose their jobs.
    * 95% of bullying is witnessed.

"And the statistic that causes the most indignation? It's estimated that only 7 percent of workplace bullies end up censured, transferred, or terminated."
