The "Help Is Here Express Bus" has rolled into town and will be here through Thursday of this week providing assistance to families and individuals without insurance coverage and/or low income families for prescription medications.
The goal is to help people find prescription medication either free or at a very low cost to those qualified. Staff will be on hand and fluent in English, Spanish, French and Vietnamese.
The "Help Is Here Express Bus" will be at the Martin Luther King Charter School located at 1617 Caffin Avenue from 9 am to 10 am today and at the Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority located at 5001 Westbank Expressway this afternoon in Marrero from 2 pm to 3 pm.
Wednesday's schedule includes Grace Episcopal Church at 3700 Canal Street from 1 pm to 6 pm.
On Thursday the "Help Is Here Express Bus" will be at the Mary Queen of Vietnam Church at 14001 Dwyer Blvd. from 9 am to 11 am. This stop will conclude the tour for the greater New Orleans area.
Residents are encouraged to bring identification cards, medicare cards and a list of all their medications with them when visiting the "Help Is Here Express Bus".
