Not only did Tennessee lose 3 football players to an alleged armed robbery arrest, they also lost their game against Ole Miss this Saturday night. The Vols were no match for Ole Miss’s Dexter McCluster, and with the arrest of the 3 players their rushing defense was destroyed.
As if missing 3 players isn’t enough, the whole team was likely ticked off and distracted. After all, the actions of their fellow team members were an embarrassment for the entire Tennessee football program. In addition, it’s all anyone can talk about.
McCluster rushed 282 yards and scored 4 touchdowns. He was able to rush more yards than any other player against Tennessee. Missing defensive players likely played a role in McCluster’s success.
Not only was the 42-17 win for Ole Miss a boost for their self confidence, it brings them to 7-3 and also makes them bowl eligible. None of this is good news for the Vols.
Would Saturday’s game been a win had the 3 players not gotten arrested? I guess we will never know.

Ole Miss put a beating on the Vols. You can try to mask it by making excuses but the facts still remain. Ole Miss is a superior team.
You got beat...all day....it wasn't close. Quit making excuses
A freshman safety, Janzen, a freshman wide-receiver and another freshman who has collected an insignificant amount of playing time this year would have changed the outcome of the game?
Sure.
