Tiger Woods ads were pulled from primetime television stations and 19 cable networks by marketers, In addition, Gatorade has announced that they are discontinuing the Tiger Focus line.  Gatorade claims that their decision is not because of the car accident and looming scandal full of lots of women, rather their decision is completely based on business purposes.

The Tiger Woods scandal is going to cost the golfer far more than just the potential $80 million pre-nuptial package re-negotiated by Elin Nordegren or the alleged $1 to $3 million that was paid to Rachel Uchitel for "hush money" or the millions all this is going to cost the golfer in legal fees.  The scandal has caused Tiger Woods advertisers to get nervous - and Gatorade and dropped ads are only the first indication.

Davidson County residents can purchase Tiger Focus Gatorade in gas stations and grocery stores all over.  I asked some residents what they thought about Gatorade's decision to drop the Tiger Focus brand and here is what they had to say:

Phil said that he likes the Focus line and buys it on his way home from the gym from to time. He's disappointed in the decision.

Patty said she's glad that Gatorade dropped Tiger Focus because Gatorade has such a presence in youth sports events. She doesn't think that Tiger is the ideal role model at this time, but does mention that he can still straighten himself up.

Chrissy said that she thinks that Gatorade made the decision a little prematurely.  She also mentioned that she usually opts for plain Gatorade because it's usually on sale for cheaper at the grocery store, so she could understand why the sales were down.

That blue Tiger was the greatest drink I ever tasted. They better just call it "Kobe" because he deserves his own drink.

Maybe it's time to stop putting athletes, actors and singers on some kind of pedestal. I've always found it ridiculous that anyone looks to any of these people for moral guidance. Referring to athletes as 'heroes' is another ridiculous notion. It hugely demeans what real heroes do.

For heavens sake people....stop idolizing mere mortals who are no better than the rest of us.

We are driving all over buying what's left of the Tiger Focus Gatorade (lemon-lime). Much smoother taste than the regular gatorade. If anyone knows where we can purchase the 8-packs of it, please comment. We would buy as much as the seller has. Why punish the consumers for what Tiger did?
