I recently headed out to the Opry Mills mall in Nashville and asked a variety of Davidson county residents and visitors what they thought about the Sammy Sosa face change.
Everyone I interviewed wished to remain anonymous.
One young Davidson County resident around the age of 23 said "Who's Sammy Sosa?"
Another middle aged individual said "How did Sammy Sosa's Face change? Did he have plastic surgery or something?"
Obviously my first two interviewees didn't browse the Web the last few days, or else they would have known that Sammy Sosa bleached his skin with a special cream. His face, which used to be dark is now a light mocha color.
I adjusted my question and asked people "Sammy Sosa bleached his skin. What do you think about that?"
One gentleman about the age of 30 said "You mean Sosa bleached his skin like Michael? Unbelievable."
Someone else said "He must have had that illness darker people get - you know, the same illness Michael had..."
You see, Sammy Sosa's face change doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. For the most part, normal every day people shrug off the change - either that, or they don't really care.

Its disgusting..... He has bleached his face and it is a common practice in places like Jamaica..... Shame on Sammy.
Actually he was interviewed and said that he was using a new moisturizer for softening his skin. Perhaps it had side effects.
they say that he is using some european cream for "sun damage" not for skin disease(univision interview) my thing is he has been playing baseball for years so why try to correct skin now? this is sicking darker latinos and lighter latino problem been around for years just like in the us lighter is supposed to be better.but his excuse is for the birds yes SHAME on you sammy why dont you bleach your dark lips and cut your nose while you are at it and yes i am black woman. this makes me mad

Sammy said that his lighter skin is due to a detox, this could be very true because after many years of abusing his body with steroid or whatever, it takes this intervenous glutathione to undo some of the damage. One of the side effects is to lighten skin. I do know someone who did this for liver problems and this is what happened- Google it!

yeah, why do we care a lick about some rich has-been who apparently thinks way too much of his "image?" seriously, if you care and are not sammy sosa himself, raise your hand and tell the entire class how pathetic your life is that you expend your emotions on this dude.
What he does not know is that he look better before, he looks fake with lighter skin and those contact lenses.
