The 2009 American Music Awards gave out awards to each of the biggest genres of music. From Nashville's own country music to hip-hop and R&B, entertainers gathered together to celebrate 2009's best musicians. The 2009 American Music Awards were exciting for country music- although not as exciting as the Country Music Awards two weeks ago.
Taylor Swift was the country music star walking away with the most awards. She beat out Michael Jackson for Performer of the Year, and walked away with Favorite Female Artist in both the Pop/Rock and Country Music genres. Her album "Fearless" walked away with the Favorite Album for Country Music.
Keith Urban walked way with Favorite Performer - Male for Country Music, and Rascal Flatts was the favorite group. Nashville's finest performers were honored at the Ceremony, and the choices made couldn't have been more appropriate.
The 2009 American Music Awards went on beautifully. From J. Lo's slip and fall incident to Adam Lambert's racy performance, it was a night to remember. Nashville is proud of Taylor Swift, and is very happy that the legacy of Michael Jackson was remembered. It was a star-studded fun-filled night that many people will remember.
The 2009 American Music Awards went so well, I am very anxious for next year's awards. Will Taylor Swift take America by storm for another year, or will Nashville produce another super star? Only time will tell.
