Montreal police are searching for two men they say have mysteriously disappeared.
Vincent Lamoureux 20 and Hugp Pereira 22 were last seen at Diable Vert bar on St-Denis street in the plateau on early Wednesday morning. Police say it's as if they simply vanished.
Pereira was speaking with a woman inside the bar at 2 a.m. before he and Lamoureux left the premises to return to Laval. A few minutes later, Pereira sent a text to the woman, who told him to pick her up outside.
"She went outside, but Hugo never showed up," said his stepfather, Bernard Sauve.
Police believe left the in a four-door 2007 black Acura TL, licence plate 861 ZBD.
Some three hours later, at 6 a.m., Pereira's phone received a text message from Lamoureux's phone, saying, "Where are you?" according to a police trace.
Pereira never responded, and no one has seen or heard from either man since.
"It's not like them to just disappear", said Lamoureux's uncle Real Lebeouf.
Police, and a team of 200 volunteers have been searching the streets Montreal and Laval, but so far don't have any evidence of wrongdoing.
Friends have also started a Facebook page to help and find the two men. As of the Monday morning the page already had more than 4000 members. "Don't give up, keep up the search," read one post.
Lamoureux is a white, French-speaking man, who is five-feet-eight, 160 lbs., with short brown hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a green V-neck sweater, a black Energie-brand jacket and a fur cap.
Lamoureux is a junior A hockey player, and a certified firefighter. His family says he doesn't do drugs or gamble.
Pereira is a white French-speaking man, who is five-feet-nine, 180 lbs., with short brown hair, brown eyes, an earring and an eyebrow piercing.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white sweater with a hood and a black coat.
His family says he is a student and works at a hospital and he also doesn't do drugs.
Pereira's mother Fabienne Ouellet. said her son would never go this long without contacting her. "Hugo always calls me. Always. He would never just disappear like this." "
