Dan Ruck is a CityBeat columnist for The Beat newspaper in Greenville, SC, and freelance writer for GSA Business, also in Greenville. He has 30 years of full-time employment as a writer or editor for Reuters news service, Mutual Funds magazine, The Chicago Tribune, Kansas City Star, Kiplinger's Changing Times magazine and Consumer's Digest. Dan was the winner of a national writing award at the Kansas City Star and of a Florida magazine association award at Mutual Funds magazine.
