Ron Rumsfeld of Eugene embarrassed by Gingrich, Romney debate.
When asked, Eugene Conservative Ronald Rumsfeld (not related to Donald) is repulsed and a bit embarrassed by the antics of Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.
Ronald, a retired Eugene business man, now in his late 70s, remembers a different day in American Politics. Rumsfeld, self admittedly a Regan Republican, with a dash of Berry Goldwater conservatism, thrown in for good measure, states that he’s bewildered and a bit dismayed by the course his party has charted in the run for the presidency. According to Donald, ”I’ve never seen anything like this in my seventy years… it’s as if the Republican party has been taken over by a bunch of drunk Robber Barons.”
Donald spoke on to inform me that he’s been a Republican since the pre Richard Nixon years, voting for Eisenhower in the 1950s.
As discrepancies in Mitt Romney’s income statements were disclosed to the public; through MSNBC news reports, Newt while visiting Florida’s “space coast’, promises to build and man, a Moon colony by the end of his second term in the oval office.
It was further reported by NBC that Libertarian candidate Ron Paul, gained considerable credibility, as the two front runners accused each other of being unable to serve the American public due to the burden of their vast personal fortunes. Rick Santorum had no comment at the time of this posting.
When asked to comment on the two multi-millionaires, launching redundant innuendos in each other’s direction, in the attempt to discredit… Mr. Rumsfeld scratching the top of his head in an apparent search for the answer, headed for the side door of his ranch truck, turned the key and drove off without answering the question.
This reporter will attempt to catch up with Mr. Rumsfeld as the campaign develops.
