Rochester Hills – In July, 2008 a fire swept through Madonna’s former childhood home at 2036 Oklahoma in Rochester Hills.

The owners of the house, Tony and Juliet Dedaj, are being required to appear before a judge at the 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills. City officials are hoping the couple will be ordered to make improvements to the outside of the house including replacing the windows which have been boarded up since the blaze.

The owners say they haven’t been able to fix the home because the insurance company hasn’t paid their claim. The couple has said that the insurance company believes they may have had something to do with the fire because of financial problems.

Tony Dedaj, is a former industrial painter who hasn't worked since 2001 when he said he was injured in a car accident. The couple is in default on mortgage payments because they had stopped receiving disability payments.  They are currently renting a $700-a-month apartment in Rochester. However Tony said he has recently started getting his disability payments again.

Madonna, now 51-years-old, graduated from Rochester Adams High School during the 1975-76 school year and moved to New York in 1978.
