MEMPHIS D.A. INVESTIGATING ALLEGATIONS AGAINST N.F.L STAR

CLEVELAND — The Shelby County Tennessee District Attorney’s Domestic Violence Unit has spent the better part of the last two days investigating allegations that Cleveland Browns cornerback Brandon McDonald assaulted his girlfriend while visiting the city during Super Bowl weekend.

On Sunday McDonald’s girlfriend, WKNR 850 AM radio personality Sabrina Parr, went public via twitter, with allegations that the National Football League star savagely beat her.

“I have never been hit so hard in my life but I promise he WONT get away with this!”

Parr followed with another tweet confirming that it was in fact McDonald she was referring to.

“So Brandon McDonald put his hands on me & went crazy! I’m definitely pressing charges & sewing his ass!”

While Parr gave few details about the beating sources close to the victim claim the pair clashed after leaving McDonald’s home town of Collins, Mississippi to gamble in nearby Memphis.

According to sources, McDonald who played college football at the University of Memphis became angry after not receiving what he considered to be a legitimate response to a question asked of Parr.

The same sources say Parr later called police but officers responding to the scene but refused to take a report.

Jennifer Donnals, Communications Director for Shelby County District Attorney William L. Gibbons on Wednesday told the Examiner that her office takes domestic violence cases very seriously and that her office investigated to see if the allegations were reported.

“Domestic violence is a crime, explained Donnals. “Over the last two days we have had extensive conversations with the police department and at this time we have determined that no police report has been filed regarding this matter.”

When asked if it was possible that Memphis police officers gave the local football star a pass Donnals replied “You have to ask the police chief that question.” Calls to Memphis Police Chief Larry A. Godwin were not returned.

Donnals also said that if Parr is truly a victim of domestic violence then she needs to come forward immediately

“While we are not sure this alleged attack took place in the city of Memphis if it did we urge Ms. Parr to come forward and file a police report.”

“If she does file a police report we will investigate the matter thoroughly “

Parr has not tweeted in the past 36 hours and was not present Wednesday on the “Really Big Show” with her usual co-hosts Tony Rizzo and Aaron Goldhammer. During the show’s three hours, no mention was made of either the alleged incident or of Parr.

Calls to station Manager Keith Williams regarding Parr’s employment status were not returned. The N.F.L. has recently begun cracking down on off the field violence by it players.

Former Tennessee Titan Adam “Pac-Man” Jones was suspended for a full season by Commissioner Roger Goodell for a litany of misdeeds.
Calls to the N.F.L. were referred to Cleveland Browns Media Relations Director Neal Gulkis.

The Examiner reached out to Parr and was told by her grandmother Pearlie McAlpine, that while she was worried about her granddaughter she had not spoken with her in quite some time.
