USCIS investigates Gambian man for marriage fraud

Saikou Kanteh (police photo)

The United States Citizen and Immigration Service began an investigation on Saikou Kanteh, 26, when it became clear that Kanteh's intentions were less than honorable.

Kanteh, who immigrated to Georgia from Gambia, West Africa, on April 9, 2009, was arrested by the Dekalb County Sheriff's Office for domestic violence on April 13th, 2009. According to his American citizen wife, he "became violent after a disagreement regarding employment" four days after arriving and attacked her. After the wife, who wished to remain nameless, fled to safety and contacted 911, Kanteh was arrested by deputies, charged with Felony Aggravated Assault and ordered to have no further violent contact with the wife. The wife asserts that Kanteh plotted with previously unknown family members within the United States and abroad to fraudently gain his immigrant status through marriage to her.

Kanteh bonded out of jail on a $5000 special condition bond and is awaiting his next criminal hearing in Dekalb County Superior court.

I am in the exact situation as the wife here. Gambian men/women are all out for ONE thing and that's the US citizenship. I went into this organized marriage thinking it was real, but it was far from real. The man I married lied to me about his marital status, name, entry into the US and everything!! I am currently seeking an annulment and pursuing having him deported out of the states for GOOD! Women be VERY CAREFUL of these scam artist, they are like wolves in sheeps clothing!
