Life after Potter for Grint, Felton

Rupert Grint in HBP
Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley

As noted below, filming is underway for the last of the eight Harry Potter films (eight, not seven, because Deathly Hallows will be released in two parts, the first one out in November of 2010), and as the final scenes are canned we are left to wonder what will become of the actors we have seen grow over a decade of cinematic work. Will they be typecast in their roles or will we see long, varied and fruitful careers from these young stars?

Dan Radcliffe has shown his chops by baring all on Broadway in Equus; Emma Watson has become a photographer's darling, appearing in high-end fashion shoots regularly. And lately, we've had less cause for worry about Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), whose careers seem to be taking off post-Potter. Grint's latest film, Cherrybomb, has received some excellent reviews (the fans are even petitioning to get it wider distribution), and he has just been named a Hot Sidekick by Rolling Stone. Meanwhile Tom Felton (who has been interacting a lot with fans lately via Twitter) will be taking on a new role in the film Between the Waves.

More updates on these young actors' careers as they come!

I never had a doubt about Rupert having a career after harrypotter. He's a very talented and natural actor. And hey don't forget to mention Ruperts other new movie Wildtarget starring Emily Blunt & Bill Nighly.

I think Rupert's post-Potter career took off when he starred in Thunderpants and Driving Lessons. Rupert's such an amazing actor! There's no doubt that he'll have the most promising career out of the young HP cast. And, people, please don't forget to click on the link in this article that says "petitioning" and sign the petitions so we can get Cherrybomb into theatres!

Hard to imagine that the last HP movie will be done soon. I am looking forward especially to what Rupert Grint will be up to in the future. I think he is such a naturally talented young actor with great comedic timing but very good at intense scenes too. I have seen Driving Lessons and liked it a lot. And I would love to see Cherrybomb. So I signed the petition and hope lots of other people do too.
