Sitting on the southern edge of Clintonville and the northern fringe of the Campus District is Patrick J's. The atmosphere is more Clintonville than Campus, and has a sports bar feel that caters more to a 30-40 something crowd than it does to students.
Happy hour is from 4-8 PM during which domestic bottled beers are $1.50 and domestic draughts are $1.75, and that is about it. No specials on imports or mixed drinks, and no specials on food. The beer selection is fairly limited but most patrons can find something that they like, and the liquor is stocked pretty much the same way.
There is adequate seating at the bar and a few tables around the bar which give the inside a cozy and comfortable feel. In warm weather you have to check out the excellent patio. TV viewing is great from any seat, with 10 TVs inside and a couple out on the patio. The service is very good and the rest rooms are clean.
All in all, this is a great neighborhood place to grab a bite and a beer, but the limited happy hour specials drag down the happy hour rating.
