The Governor's race here in Georgia is shaping up to be a real barn burner of an election, and while the news about which candidates are running, where their campaign stops are throughout the state and what they ate for breakfast is being widely published, some other elections aren't getting the spotlight that they deserve. I was fortunate enough to be able to have a "virtual interview" via email with one candidate who is running for a very important office these days: Insurance Commissioner.
Mr. Gerry Purcell was kind enough to agree to take a few moments for a half dozen or so questions about his positions on socialized national healthcare, local insurance here in GA and a few other things related to his thoughts on insurance related issues for Georgians.
To be honest with you, I'm very surprised that someone running for an office at that level would be so kind as to take on an interview with a brand new examiner writer, but it does match up with everything I've heard about Mr. Purcell. While I await his replies to my admittedly amature questions on the subject of insurance, I'd like to point you to his website for more information about the man and his campaign.
Mr. Purcell has been travelling across the United States for 10 years to promote responsible and reasonable healthcare through the free-market system( which according to Mr. Purcell is the greatest system in the world - and I agree!)
Listening to the speech on the homepage for Mr. Purcell's campaign, his "adopt a liberal" line is exactly the type of thinking we need. And not just from politicians but from everyone who has a desire to see our Constitution, our liberty and our free-markets survive. Also, I was surprised to hear that Georgia has the second highest healthcare tax in the United States! I'm learning alot from Mr. Purcell's website and from those that know him, and I can't wait to hear his answers to my questions! I'm very impressed with the man, but I didn't pull any punches, and I'm sure Mr. Purcell won't either!
