Jade Barbosa, vault: Forget about the Amanar for a second -- watch this second vault and tell me she wouldn't be able to upgrade to a Cheng. Watch it here.
Valeriia Maksuita, bars: A blown routine, but an amazing double front with a full twist dismount! Watch it here.
Jessica Lopez, bars: The talented Venezuelan just keeps on upgrading. New for this meet is a Tkatchev-Geinger combo, which will delight her fans. (Watch her coach Nilson Savage jump about 10 feet in the air when she underrotates her double front dismount and has to sit it down). See it here.

Zou Kai, floor: The Olympic champion on this event has been absent from major international competition for a year. Though he displays very difficult tumbling skills throughout this routine, Zou also shows that another year of maturity has brought him nothing in terms of polish, toepoint, exactitude or crispness in his movements. And that's a shame. Watch it here.
Daiane dos Santos, floor: Fashion note! Not a bad routine, but what I really found interesting was her leotard -- a matador's jacket in black lace over a pretty deep pink leotard, fastened with fairly large leo jewels. Intriguing look of the day. See it (and the routine) here.
Mariya Livchikova, floor: The elegant music and beautifully done choreography suggest a young girl coming into her own in the world. Much like Livchikova herself, who already has people comparing her to the Soviets of old. There's no higher compliment in women's gymnastics. Watch it here.
Wu Liufang, beam: The early indicator that Deng Linlin's spot on the Chinese World team was in great danger. Watch it here.
Mariya Livchikova, beam: In a code where we see the same skills and combinations all the time, Livchikova dares to be different. Watch it here.
Igor Radivilov, vault: There may be only about 10 guys on the Ukrainian national team, but if they can all do things like this, Ukraine's bid for the Olympics is safe. Watch it here.
Nicolas Cordoba, high bar: The silver medalist on this event from Ghent is first guy from Argentina to look like a threat for a world medal in a long, long time. Impeccable work. See it here.
