What's Shawn Johnson been up to lately?
The answer is training, mostly. But the 2008 Olympic beam champion did take time to appear at the 92nd Street Y in New York City with fellow Olympic gold medalists Apolo Anton Ohno (speed skating), Chris Bosh (basketball) and 2010 Winter Games bronze medalist Elana Meyers (bobsledding) to unveil the newest "Got Milk?" ads.
In her ad, Johnson hangs upside down while sporting the trademark 'stache. In interviews, she has called having her own "Got Milk?" ad "a dream come true."
Johnson has been tweeting less frequently than usual since settling back into training, but she has dished a little bit about her progress with her slightly torn ACL and meniscus, for which she underwent surgery in the winter ("Just got back from my last knee appointment... I am officially healed and back on track =D watch out!") She's also hinted about a new skill in her repertoire.
"AHHHH!!! Got my new skill today everyone!! SO PUMPED! Can't tell you what it is have to keep it a secret but it's SUPER cool and SUPER hard," she tweeted in early August.
Your take: What do you think Johnson's new mystery skill is?

My own guess on Shawn's new skill? A Def (full-twisting Geinger) on bars. I'm guessing that her knee injury has kept her from mastering anything new on vault, floor and beam, and because her Geinger was pretty floaty before. -- Blythe
New skill... something she didn't have before? Maybe a cool bars release - can we dare to hope? I suspect she hasn't been pounding her knee, and it would be hard to upgrade her floor/vaulting skills from 2008 at this point in her comeback, so I suspect it's a cool bars release or transition. I wish we saw more comanecis and deltchevs.
Ah, a def would be mighty cool as well, and she never had any problems with that geinger. Good call!
i say a marinich or a shushonva. no way its on floor vault or beam,
It's probably def, or another super hard release move on bars.
When I first saw that tweet, my first thought was....is she doing a Def??
maybe she's actually learnt how to hit a full 180 degree split
HM
HAHAHAH touche
My guess is a new element on bars, which will be named after her! :)
what if its a layout jaeger? or a full twisting jaeger?
I could see Shawn doing a layout Jaeger pretty easily, too. A full twisting Jaeger would be amazing!
check her wii game interview, you can see actual gameplay already

I could see a layed-out jagear. I don't think she'd be saying it was super hard though, I bet it'd be easy for her! A def would be awesome...and it's a very Shawn-like skill, if that makes sense. Doesn't really call for flexibility you just have to be strong and be a badass!
^^ haha, I love your comment, and totally agree with you, especially this part - "just have to be strong and be a badass!" :P
